Zeolites are a solution to containment of contaminated soils, for example, in closed metal mines or landfills. Zeolites can occur in three specific cases:

• The removal of heavy metals from effluents.
• Stabilization of contaminated soil to reduce the phenomena of leaching and diffusion of pollutants.
• Containment of soils by zeolites barriers or concrete enriched zeolites.
